Abstract
The article discusses the current issues of using thermal imaging diagnostics to assess the technical condition of diesel engines in locomotives. It analyzes the physical principles of the method, the key objects of control, and typical thermal anomalies. The article focuses on the practical aspects of measuring, interpreting thermograms, and integrating thermal imaging diagnostics into the preventive maintenance system for traction rolling stock. It demonstrates the economic benefits of the method, including the prevention of sudden failures and reduced costs for repair.
