Abstract
This article examines modern metal-powder flaw detectors as promising non-destructive testing tools for ferromagnetic materials. Key trends in equipment development are assessed, including the use of highly sensitive sensors, automated powder application processes, and the introduction of digital visualization systems and machine vision algorithms for interpreting defect indicators. Particular attention is paid to a comparative study of the effectiveness of various types and modifications of metal-powder systems and magnetic field configurations when testing complex geometry components. The advantages of modern systems in improving diagnostic accuracy, reducing human intervention and involvement, and expanding the scope of application of the method are demonstrated.
