Abstract
The oil refining industry is a sector with a significant anthropogenic impact on the environment and the formation of harmful factors in the air of the working area. The article presents a comparative analysis of the efficiency of various gas cleaning equipment technologies (floating covers and pontoons, upgraded burners, scrubbers and fabric filters, light fraction capture units and breathing valves) used at four oil refineries of the Russian Federation. Using statistical data processing methods (Fisher's test of variance), the significance of differences in the efficiency of pollutants capture was assessed. The analysis results showed that at the significance level of α=0.05, the choice of a specific type of technology does not have a statistically significant impact on the variation of efficiency indicators. All the enterprises under review demonstrate a comparable high (90–98%) level of equipment with treatment equipment. It is concluded that the final impact on the air environment of the work area is homogeneous, which allows for the unification of occupational health and industrial safety measures in the industry.
