Analysis of the risk assessment methodology for the functioning of railway crossings

Abstract

Currently, the Russian Railways holding company pays special attention to ensuring safety at railway crossings, their technical condition and equipment, which has a direct impact on ensuring the safe functioning of railway crossings.

Crossings of railway tracks with a highway at the same level are objects of increased danger, which requires not only compliance with the requirements of traffic rules by drivers of vehicles, but also high organization and maintenance of railway crossings, thereby creating conditions for safe passage following and trains and cars. Ensuring safety at railway crossings is carried out by improving their technical condition, innovative techniques and technologies that ensure an increase in the level of traffic safety, conducting, together with the State Inspectorate for Traffic Safety on the Roads of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, preventive raids at railway crossings with the greatest intensity traffic

The priority task in safe railroad crossings at railroad crossings is not only to ensure the reliable operation of railroad crossing equipment, but also to manage risks, which will reduce the number of hazardous events at railroad crossings.
