Сreation of formulations of lubricants by applying the method of selection of additives by activation energy

New formulations of special solid lubricants for the «wheel–rail» friction system have been developed. The selection of functional additives according to their activation energy was carried out. The results of comparative field tests of optimized formulations of lubricants for the resource of a single application are presented. It is shown that the wear value of the ridges of the wheelset bandages decreases as a result of long–term operational tests of a new formulation of solid lubricating rods “RAPS” with a polyethylene additive.
